The Roommate

First a big shout out to several people who made watching the movie in the theater enjoyable:

a) The 3 12 year old girls who kept screaming before anything scary happened and kept predicting the next parts really vocally.

b) The half a dozen people who joined us throughout the last 30 minutes of the movie. We couldn't have done it without you.

c) The attention deficit 8 year old who sat behind me. Thanks for repeatedly kicking the back of my chair, chattering constantly, and saying "Gross!!" when the 2 hot chicks were making out.

d) And last, but not least, the mother of 5 who let her children use me and Joel's personal space as a home away from home.

1) Besides the poor viewing environment, it was pretty tight. As I anticipated it was a lot better version of Single White Female. The scene where she goes to meet up the ex-boyfriend is fucking almost identical to it.

2) The whole movie was pretty predictable, but they did a hell of a job mixing up the ways the roommate would take everyone to town. The cat in the dryer thing was new, as was professor.

3) Objectively the story didn't make that much sense. For some reason or another the roommate hated some other girl she used to stalk and always wanted to whoop on her parents. The only explanation was that she was off her meds. I'm sure mental health professionals raved about the portrayal of mentally ill kids in this lol.

4) I don't really know how it was rated PG-13. There was phone sex and a bunch of other inappropriate shenanigans.

Better than I thought it'd be,

A
