TRICK R TREAT TWEET WORLD. Tha second best day of tha year so gonna gii on tha blog.
1) This movie wasn't very good. Well neither was tha first one. Or tha second one. So I guess maybe this wasn't a huge surprise lol. I think my hope was that it would be like the new Chucky movie that was supposed to return to its much scarier original roots.
2) It did have like a few (or one) scary scenes. Like that part at the beginning when they're running through tha field and tha guy who you originally mistake for a leprechaun is just staring at them. I always used to tell @buns0n how it creeped me out when strangers were just standing around staring at you spookily (sp?).
3) Unfortunately, it quickly delved into a much worse version of Jeepers Creepers. I mean, some mysterious thing is running amok when all of a sudden you realize it's just some deformed animal thing that has really poor vision. And without all tha crazy town people it wouldn't even have a chance of TKOing anyone.
4) Even tha half-mangled attempts at linking tha movie to a leprechaun suck. So there's gold and they are in Ireland? SMH.
The scariest part about this movie is that it is selling for 35 dollars on Amazon lol.
HAPPY OCTOBER

Carrie (2013)
Sorry for the delays bw. That jitsu Nov/Dec/January combo is almost over lol.
1) I reviewed tha original movie back in tha day. It's still got that same overwhelming gross scene at tha beginning lol. Kind of hard to really recover from that.
2) Besides that it was really pretty solid. The girl from Kick-Ass was actually a lot better than I anticipated she would be. I guess I just figured she'd look like she was 5 and wouldn't be able to pull off tha creepy Carrie bit but she was solid. That really good looking chick from tha 70s wasn't magically re-casted it which was expected but also unfortuante lol.
3) The special effects were also pretty sub-par for a movie that was remade. Like that part where the mean chick's head flies through the car or whenever glass was shattering generally. I dunno if that was supposed to indicate that Carrie was controlling it or if it was just poor special effects lol.
4) On a side note, I don't really get tha importance that people attach to prom in these movies. Having been a prom king myself, I can tell you it's actually not that cool lol.
Besides all of my complaining, it was actually really good

Evil Dead (2013) - Live Tweets
Kind of a unique review tonight bw. I'm gonna review it just based off of my and Alan's live tweets of it from back in tha day lol.
1) Here are some of Alan's gems on my computer that summed up my thoughts on the movie pretty well
a) ""they aren't just dead...they are evil dead"@*buff* trying to sell tha Evil Dead"
b) "theres not even a plot to this movie." --@*buff*. Is he talking about Annie Hall or Evil Dead?
c) "You know when Woody Allen went back to kindergarten? Don't start asking for explanations on why they do things"--@*buff*
d) "OH MY GOD OOOOOOHHH"--@*buff*
2) And, some of my own tweets (and alan's actual thoughts)
a) "to be fair. this movie is better than annie hall 20 minutes in." -@alan
b) "holy god this is scary#couchbread2013"
c) "luvin tha ending credits flashing back to tha original#evildead2013"
and after the movie
d) "as a random aside to everything: KState sucks" LOL
Maybe I'll review it for real soon lol,

Fright Night (2011)
1) Not as good as the original Fright Night but it was still pretty solid.
2) Couple of things I never realized about vampires. I didn't realize that you have to have invited them into your house before they are allowed in. Pretty crazy. I also didn't realize that some of the n00bs that get turned into vampires don't immediately make it rain on you (like the blonde strip club chick).
3) I kind of wish both this and the original would've left out the whole part about them hunting down the vampire expert guy. He only added a bunch of irrelevant side mumbo jumbo to both movies.
4) Did anyone catch Lisa Loeb's appearance in this movie? She had that tight mid-nineties song called Stay that was super tight. Kinda crazy she just popped into this movie after being off the grid for awhile.
Good stuff, but not near the original

Children of the Corn (2009)
WGBW, rounding down some studying for the night. Thought I'd throw a review of this gem of a movie I just watched.
1) Like most of the remakes it was ho-hum. The remake of Halloween did it's elders justice but this one wasn't great.
2) How goofy is the little dude that is supposed to be in charge of the cult? He was kinda stupid in the first one but this is just jitsu. In the scene where they surround the girl and he signals for the kill, he looks like one of those tee-ball kids who gives out base stealing signs. Also, I'm pretty sure he's one of the kids on Dexter: The Second Season
3) It also seemed like the couple just kept fighting and fighting the whole first part of the movie. If someone was nagging at me during a road trip through rural Nebraska I might've pulled the car over too.
4) For you Friends fans out there, do you remember the episode with the home study? (You can see the relevant clip here) Joey develops the code word BERT for danger. There's a clip in this movie (which you can see here at the 6:49 mark) that shows her yelling BERT the same way Joey does LOL (you can also see that goofy signaling the kid does there too).
Nothing to write home about, but I wouldn't change the channel

The Omen (2006)
1) It's a lot better remake then some of the other jitz that has gotten redone. Don't get me wrong, I like most of the crappy remakes, but this one was actually pretty good.
2) The nightmares the mom has are spooky as fuck. Another jitsu movie that scared me was that eyes wide shut one b/c of all the masks in it. In the Omen she has these dreams where she shuts the mirror and the devil mask thing pops up and its scary as fuck. and how scary is that little kid? jesus h. christ.
3) Julia Styles is in it and shes a babe. Her and Amanda Peete are 2 of the hottest babes of all time. Props to this movie.
A (but too spooky to watch too many times).

The Last House on the Left (2009)

1) I thought it'd be a turd copy cat of one of the saw movies and it kind of was. A lot of the torture porn movies get over the top. The rape scene was almost too fucked up and then head explosion at the end was a little jitz.
2) On the same note I've never seen someones head explode from a microwave in a movie before so props for being original.
3) Not that a lot of shit makes sense in horror movies, but it was odd to me that the mom and dad seemed to be getting their yaya's off killing the people while the daughter was all fucked up in the other room. The guy had time to set up the microwave contraption before even taking his daughter to the hospital.
Pretty solid but I wouldn't drag someone along to watch it.
